No privatisation move: Krishna Murthy

The minister said that there were several complaints of corruption in the department.

Visakhapatnam: The registration department is aiming double digit growth and there is no truth in the allegations that the department is being privatized, said deputy chief minister and minister for stamps and registrations K.E. Krishna Murthy. Talking to newsmen here on Friday after inaugurating the new premises of sub-registrar office at Gajuwaka and Sabbavaram areas in Vizag, the minister said that the registration department has set a target of earning Rs 3,500 crore in the current financial year and so far achieved Rs 3,200 crore.

The minister said that there were several complaints of corruption in the department. A section of officers are indulging in irregularities and they will be prevented henceforth. AP was the first state in India to introduce online system which facilitates the people to register their lands and houses by just a click and the documents of farmers' lands are being registered online to prevent land disputes and to maintain transparency, he claimed. Speaking on the implementation of Gajuwaka House Committee report on registration of encroached lands of government, the Mr Krishna Murthy said that the government will soon issue a GO to solve the matter.
