Bengaluru: Reality show director in harassment row

After the auditions, the girls alleged that the director of the show misbehaved with them by asking inappropriate questions.

Bengaluru: The students of a city based women’s college staged a protest on Sunday afternoon during the audition of a reality show on the college premises, alleging that the show director had misbehaved with some girls.

Hundreds of girls from across the city had registered for a Kannada reality show called ‘Pyate hudgir halli life’ at Maharani Lakshmi Ammani Women's College and the auditions had started around 9 am.

After the auditions, the girls alleged that the director of the show misbehaved with them by asking inappropriate questions.

The students created a ruckus in the college after the incident. The Malleswaram police immediately reached the spot and stopped the auditions.

According to the police, more than 500 girls had registered for the audition, but the organisers did not contact the police for the security. They had to intervene and stop the auditions as a precautionary measure.

A girl who finished her auditions spoke to the media and alleged that the interviewers asked her inappropriate questions. She alleged that instead of asking her talents they asked her how many boyfriends she had and if she knew how to kiss and even asked her to kiss a boy.

Another girl alleged that when she tried to cross question them after they asked inappropriate questions, one of the celebrities replied, “Calm down, we’ll select you too for the show.”

The organisers and the show director denied the allegations and claimed the girls were lying.

A police complaint is yet to be filed in this regard.
