Andhra Pradesh: Bhavani closing event draws many pilgrims

The temple board had given schedule for the Bhavanis region-wise though people are not following the plan and are coming as they like.

Vijayawada: With the start of the closing ceremony of Bhavani Deekshalu on Sunday, at the Kanakadurga temple, the homam was lighted at 6.50 am near Maha Mandapam following which the ceremony began. Devotees have been arriving in large numbers to the temple. Authorities have made all the arrangements for it.

Executive officer J. Suryakumari, board chairman, and members began the puja at Homagundam as per the muhurtam. The temple was filled with Jai Bhavani chanting of the devotees. Almost 42,000 devotees had visited the temple by evening. Sale of subsidised laddus reached 1,25,000 while annaprasadam was distributed to around 15,000 devotees. Darshan would be allowed till 11 pm while huge number of devotees were arriving to close their Bhavani Deeksha in the presence of Goddess Durga.

The temple board had given schedule for the Bhavanis region-wise though people are not following the plan and are coming as they like. Officials expect the schedule to be followed at least partially by devotees, so that they can manage according to the plan. All the Bhavanis have allowed through Ghat road only. Old age persons or disabled persons have been arranged battery cars. The accommodation for the devotees has been arranged at CV Reddy Charities building.
