Thiruvananthapuram: Youth Congress march to the residence of transport minister Thomas Chandy on Friday turned violent.

The YC workers who tried to forcibly enter the minister's official residence were stopped by the police.

The cops also resorted to lathicharge to chase away the agitators in which several leaders sustained injuries .

The RYF march later in the day also witnessed violence. The police stopped the march of RYF to the minister's residence within the compound of Cantonment House, in front of the Mascot Hotel. The police used water cannon to disperse the agitators in which RYF leader Katoor Krishnakumar sustained injuries. The police later evicted the agitators from the spot.
