Hyderabad: Chairman issues 2-month pay yo Wakf Board employees

The board released two months remuneration to 8,013 imams and muezzins valued at Rs 8,01,30,000 and salary for board employees at Rs 78 lakh.

Hyderabad: Wakf Board employees heaved a sigh of relief as the impasse over their salary ended on Wednesday and the amounts were credited to their accounts.

The employees had not got their salary as chief executive officer Abdul Hameed had questioned whether board chairman Mohammed Saleem could continue in the post after his term as MLC had ended. This was reported by Deccan Chronicle on Wednesday.

Mr Saleem signed the cheques valued at more than Rs 8.7 crore on Wednesday. The board released two months remuneration to 8,013 imams and muezzins valued at Rs 8,01,30,000 and salary for board employees at Rs 78 lakh.

Mr Saleem said the pension for divorcees will be released on Thursday as Mr Hameed was out of station.
