Telangana: Bandi tells striking JPS, don't give up

Hyderabad: The BJP on Thursday urged the striking junior panchayat secretaries (JPS) not to give up their agitation for regularisation of their services as promised by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, with the party’s state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar declaring that even if they are removed from their service now the BJP after forming government in the state would immediately reinstate them as regular government employees.

Sanjay, addressing a ‘Nirudyoga March’ at Sangareddy, said the striking JPSs were being threatened by the police who were being sent to their homes and being told to rejoin duties. “Do not give up. The BJP stands by you. As soon as we come to power, we will regularise your services, reappoint if you are removed from your jobs by the Chief Minister. Our government will also pay regular salaries from the date you completed your three years of probation,” Sanjay declared.

He said the BJP will not back down from its demands following the collapse of the TSPSC examination system and will press the government for providing ₹1 lakh as compensation to all those affected by the cancelled exams, a probe into the paper leaks by a judge, and the sacking of IT minister K.T. Rama Rao from the Cabinet.

The BJP, he said, will complete its Nirudyoga March protests next month with a rally in Hyderabad after a few more in other districts. “There is no question of letting this Chief Minister get away with his actions. It is just a matter of five more months that KCR will remain Chief Minister. Soon after the BJP government gets going in Telangana after the next elections, two lakh vacancies will be filled up. Our government will pay all the fee reimbursement dues.”

“Apparently, Medak district is called KCR’s district. Did he get any new industry here? Did he give jobs to the youth here,” Sanjay asked the large gathering in Sangareddy town, part of the undivided Medak district. “The Chief Minister does not care for the youth, or anyone else. If he comes back to power, Telangana will be forced to borrow another ₹5 lakh crore,” he remarked.

Taking aim at Rama Rao, Sanjay said, “KTR dons the role of a different minister each day, and he does this to check how much each minister is looting from the people and to ensure he gets his share. While KCR’s family is earning hundreds of crores of rupees, people in Telangana re becoming poor. All of you have given opportunities to different parties in the past. Give the BJP a chance this time and we will demonstrate what a people-centric government can do.”
