Hyderabad: Just before his meeting with minister T. Harish Rao, TD MLA E. Dayakar Rao told DC that there was total discontentment in the TS TD. “Everyone is dissatisfied with the way things are going on in the TD. I really don’t understand why Revanth Reddy is being given prominence in the party; he is not only an accused in the cash-for-vote scam but has also brought discredit to the party due to his criminal actions. He is blackmailing (TD chief) Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh, that’s why he is being given prominence.”
Mr Dayakar Rao was of the view that Mr Naidu was becoming disinterested in TS affairs after he moved to Vijayawada. “Naidu has no interest in TS. This has weakened the party here, there is no other go for leaders like us except to join the TRS rather than suffer humiliation,” he said. “TD has no future, it has lost its base in TS. People are with the TRS, and this was abundantly proven in GHMC polls,” he said.
Mr Dayakar Rao told newsmen at the CM’s camp office later, “In order to secure more development for my constituency and the state, I have joined the TRS in the presence of KCR.” He added that the decision was painful since he had been associated with the TD for over three decades, but was in tune with the people’s wishes.
