JS says AU recruitment notification an injustice to BCs, women

Visakhapatnam: Jana Sena Party corporator P. Murthy Yadav said the notification of Andhra University to recruit professors will do injustice to backward classes and women.

Speaking to media, he pointed out that the notification issued this time for appointment of professors, associate professors and assistant professors in AU is under the new roster system, instead of following the old roster system.

Further, the JSP leader pointed out that while there are 900 vacancies in Andhra University, AP government has released notification for only 519 posts.

He underlined that non-adherence to the old roster will cause injustice to BCs, Dalits, tribals, women and disabled. The notification makes no mention of the 4 per cent reservation for disabled persons or 33 per cent reservation for women. It also violates UGC norms and AP University acts, he pointed out.

Murthy Yadav demanded that state government explain the reason for not following the earlier roster system.
