MP Women to Get LPG at Rs 450 For Whole Year

Bhopal: In a major announcement ahead of the year-end assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday declared that the highly subsidised LPG cylinder at Rs 450 would be provided to the poor women in the state ‘round-the-year’.

Earlier, the benefit was available for the month of ‘Sawan’ only.

“I have decided to make LPG cylinder available to the poor women at Rs 450 round-the-year, by doing away with my earlier decision to provide the cheap cooking gas to them during the month of Sawan only”, Mr Chouhan said while addressing rally organised on the occasion of the ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ at Sanbad under Khargone district in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday evening.

Mr Chouhan also announced to relax marks secured by the students in the 12th examination from 75 percent to 60 percent for the free laptop scheme.

Meanwhile, the state cabinet on Saturday approved the proposal to pay compensation to the victims of mob lynching in the wake of recent directive by the supreme court in this regard.

The cabinet which met here under the chairmanship of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan endorsed a compensation of Rs ten lakh to the next kin of the person slain in a mob lynching incident, state medical education minister Vishvas Sarang said.

The cabinet also approved the ‘Ladli Bahna Awas Yojana’ scheme to provide houses to those families who have been left out of the Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana.

The cabinet also approved the proposal to double the monthly honorariums, given to the guest teachers, categorised as Class-one, Class-two, and Class-three to Rs 18,000, Rs 14,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.

Similarly, the monthly honorarium given to the cooks engaged under the Central scheme, Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman Yojana, has been doubled to Rs 4,000.
