Chandrababu Naidu warns contractors for delay in project works

Taking strong objection to snail's pace of progress pertaining to the tunnel works of Handri-Neeva Project.

Nellore: Taking strong objection to snail's pace of progress pertaining to the tunnel works of Handri-Neeva Project, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed the officials to place the contractors responsible for the delay in blacklist. After inspecting the canal and tunnel works at Kollabailu Panchayat in Madanapalle, he told the officials to complete the works in 90 days by working without a break. He advised them to increase the length of tunnel work from present 16 meters to 24 meters per day to achieve the target.

He said that the project work has been completed to a length of 470 km out of total 669 km. "We will felicitate you if you complete the works as per schedule otherwise your bank guarantee will be withdrawn and you will be blacklisted," he cautioned the contractors. The CM claimed that he is touring more in summer to personally see the problems related to drinking water. He assured to complete the construction of summer storage tank in Madanapalle within three months while referring to drinking water problems in Madanapalle, Chittoor and Punganur towns.

He said that they will bring amendments to the Acts if necessary to make use of TTD funds to develop Tirupati while referring to some court cases against the move. He reiterated his commitment to make Tirupati as City of Lakes.
