Bengaluru High Court refuses to restrain drag racing at Jakkur aerodrome
BENGALURU: While refusing to restrain the drag races scheduled to be held at Jakkur Aerodrome, the High Court has directed the State Government to create an arrangement wherein the interests of all the parties can be protected.
The court was hearing the petition filed by Agni Aero Sports Adventure Academy Pvt Ltd questioning the use of the aerodrome for non-aviation activities.
The court has asked a meeting to be convened on Friday by Additional Chief Secretary to Government Youth, Empowerment and Sports Department with Geneva services and Agni Aero Sports Adventure Academy to work on a schedule for aviation activities for the two days on which the drag race is scheduled to be conducted on the aerodrome premises.
Illegal stone crushing
The High Court has issued notices to Deputy Commissioner, Shivamogga, Secretary Mines and Geology, Tahasildar Shivamogga Taluk, Pollution Control Board and Deputy Conservator of Forest. The court was hearing the petition alleging illegal stone crushing/quarry in the villages of Shivamogga Taluk/Districts within radius of 10 km of Protected Tiger Reserve Forest. The court has also sought report from the Pollution Control Board. The matter is adjourned to January.
Plaint against ACB, BMTF
The High Court has issued notice to State Government following petition filed by one Umapathi alleging non-compliance of Supreme Court directions by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) and BMTF.
The petitioner allege that the Supreme Court directions to upload FIR copy on its official website within 24 hours after registration, was not being followed by the ACB and BMTF.
