Karnataka High Court modifies order on G Category sites

The committee in its report submitted on Tuesday has found out that 53 allottees were entitled to retain their sites.

Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court on Thursday modified an earlier order pertaining to sites allotted under G Category, permitting 53 allottees to proceed with their construction, in accordance with law.

On December 6, a three-member committee, appointed to probe into the G category sites had submitted its report following which the High Court directed the BDA to execute the sale deeds in favour of those 53 allottees, where 10 years are over from the date of execution of the lease-cum-sale agreements, by one month.

The committee in its report submitted on Tuesday has found out that 53 allottees were entitled to retain their sites. Later, the court had directed the BDA to execute the sale deeds in favour of these 53 allottees, where 10 years are over from the date of execution of the lease-cum-sale agreements, by one month.

Further, with respect to the 53 allottees, where 10 years are not over from the date of execution of the lease-cum-sale agreements, the court had directed that BDA shall execute the sale deeds after expiry of 10 years from the date of execution, by one month thereafter. The state had set up the committee to examine beneficiaries of BDA sites allotted to them under ‘G’ category on a batch of petitions alleging that procedures were not followed when the sites under G category were allotted.
