Treatment for unorganised sector in state-run hospitals of Telangana

Dattatreya said those employees hitherto approaching ESI hospitals will be referred to state-run hospitals for better treatment.

Hyderabad: Union minister for labour Bandaru Dattatreya and Telangana state health minister C. Laxma Reddy on Sunday announced setting up of special wards in all state-run hospitals to provide medical treatment to unorganised employees, including construction labourers.

They held a meeting with superintendents of various hospitals, including of the specialised hospital NIMS, and announced that identity cards were being issued to unorganised employees in the states. These card will help them get admission in all government hospitals for free medical treatment.

Mr Dattatreya said those employees hitherto approaching ESI hospitals will be referred to state-run hospitals for better treatment where they will be treated in the special wards being set up.

He said after his meeting with Union health minister J.P. Nadda in Delhi, officials from the Centre and state will enter into a pact. Dr Laxma Reddy said Telangana government is committed to providing free medical treatment to unorganised sector employees and will work with the Centre in this regard.
