Fresh plaint against BS Yeddyurappa in Ayukta court

In November last year, the High Court had set aside the orders issued by the Governor to prosecute Mr Yeddyurappa.

Bengaluru: Cases related to illegal land denotification have come back to haunt BJP leader B. S. Yeddyurappa, with advocate Sirajin Basha again approaching the Lokayukta Special Court seeking his prosecution.

In November last year, the High Court had set aside the orders issued by the Governor to prosecute Mr Yeddyurappa, in the earlier cases based on the same set of facts filed by Sirajin Basha and K.N. Balaraj. However, the state government and the complainants had questioned the HC verdict in the Supreme Court, and the case is still pending before the apex court. Now again, Sirajin Basha had filed fresh complaints. The fate of the fresh complaints will depend on what the Supreme Court decides on the Special Leave Petitions, already pending before it. The Lokayukta Special Court adjourned the hearing till October 27.
