Bengaluru: Rains throw traffic out of gear

Parts of Sarjapura, Koramangala, Whitefield, ITPL, Hosur Road, Madiwala, K.R. Puram and other areas reportedly had slow moving traffic.

Bengaluru: Rains continued to lash the city on Tuesday night and Wednesday throwing traffic out of gear, though no flooding was reported on Wednesday.

Parts of Sarjapura, Koramangala, Whitefield, ITPL, Hosur Road, Madiwala, K.R. Puram and other areas reportedly had slow moving traffic. Those manning the BBMP control room told DC that were not complaints on Wednesday of any tree fall or water logging.

Rains set to continue
Weathermen have predicted rains to continue for another 4 or 5 days. According to private weather forecaster Skymet Weather, light to moderate rains will set to continue in the city for next 4-5 days, which is due to a trough extending from interior Odisha to south Tamil Nadu across Rayalaseema and south interior Karnataka.

They also predicted that the monthly mean for Bengaluru stands at 212.8 mm and the city has already recorded 201.7mm rain.
