Many BRS political appointees hold on to posts

Hyderabad: Though the change of guard in the state is complete for an official takeover, several officials holding plum posts, who were appointed by the BRS regime, are yet to give up their posts.

Noteworthy among them are the bosses of T Hub, We Hub, T SAT, and HMRL.

R. Shailesh Reddy was appointed the CEO of TSAT in July 2016. TSAT is an initiative from the Department of Information Technology, electronics, and Communications of the Telangana State Government to provide quality education.

T-Hub, the state government’s start-up incubator, has been headed by Srinivas Mahankali Rao since October 2021 and holds the position to date.

Deepthi Ravula is the CEO of WE Hub, which is a government-backed platform that supports women entrepreneurs across various sectors and stages with funding, mentorship, and resources. She has been at the helm of WE Hub since February 2018 till date.

The same is the case with N.V.S. Reddy, who is the managing director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd. He was appointed during the Y.S. Rajashekhar Reddy government and got his tenure extended since then by successive governments, including the Telangana government after the formation of the new state. The Telangana government extended his service at least three times.

Apart from these officials, several other government officials in nominated positions like chief advisor Somesh Kumar, chief government adviser Rajiv Sharma, advisor S.K. Joshi, and Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana have not yet relinquished their positions.

Several others, who were nominated to head corporations, have already submitted their resignation letters to Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari, including big names like TS Transco chairman Devulapalli Prabhakar Rao, TS Planning Board vice-chairman B. Vinod Kumar, Chief Minister CPRO Jwala Narasimha Rao Vanam, government adviser and Telangana Brahmana Sankshema Parishad chairman K.V. Ramana Chary, and Special Intelligence Branch OSD T. Prabhakar Rao. TSIIC chairman Gyadari Balamallu, meanwhile, put in his papers on Wednesday.
