Avoid roads around LB Stadium, traffic cops tell people

Hyderabad: In view of the swearing-in ceremony of A. Revanth Reddy as the Chief Minister of Telangana State at LB Stadium on Thursday, Hyderabad traffic police are likely to impose traffic restrictions in and around Basheerbagh from 10 am to 5 pm.

In an advisory, the traffic police said traffic will be either stopped or diverted if required in the following manner.

Traffic from AR Petrol Pump Junction, Public Gardens towards the BJR statue will not be allowed and will be diverted at AR Petrol Pump towards Nampally and Chapel Road.

Traffic from SBI Gunfoundry will not be allowed towards the BJR statue and will be diverted at SBI Gunfoundry towards Chapel Road.

Traffic from Basheerbagh towards the BJR statue will not be allowed and will be diverted at Basheerbagh towards King Koti and Old MLA Quarters road.

Traffic from Sujatha School lane towards the Khan Lateef Khan Building will not be allowed and will be diverted at Sujatha School junction towards Nampally Station Road.

RTC buses from Ravindra Bharathi towards the BJR statue should avoid LB Stadium main gate in front of the Khan Lateef Khan Building and take diversion at A.R. Petrol (Public Gardens) bunk towards Nampally Station Road.

Traffic congestion expected

From 10 am to 5 pm, traffic congestion is expected at Panjagutta, VV Statue, Rajiv Gandhi Statue (Monappa), Nirankari, Old police station Saifabad, Lakdikapool, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharathi, Hyderabad Traffic Police Complex, Basheerbagh, BJR Statue Circle, SBI Gunfoundry, Abids Circle, A.R. Petrol Pump (Public Gardens), Nampally, KLK Building, Liberty, Himayath Nagar, Assembly, MJ Market and Hyderguda junctions.

Police also advised citizens to take alternate routes to reach their destinations and avoid the above routes during the specified timings for an easy commute.
