Sub court to come up at Ottanchatram

While Rs. One crore has been allotted for setting up the sub court, the labour court will come up at a cost of Rs. 1.34 crore, he said.

Chennai: The state government has proposed to establish a new sub court at Ottanchatram in Dindigul district besides a labour court at Hosur in Krishnagiri district, law minister C.Ve. Shanmugam informed the Assembly on Tuesday.

While Rs. One crore has been allotted for setting up the sub court, the labour court will come up at a cost of Rs. 1.34 crore, he said while winding up the debate on demand for grants for his department in the Assembly. Also, the government law college, Villupuram, would be opened in about six months’ time. Already, the work to construct the buildings for the law college is apace at an outlay of Rs. 68 crore, he added.

The Minister also had a word of praise for Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami in striving for a lasting solution to the Cauvery issue and said “Amma’s (late CM J. Jayalalithaa) guidance and foresight besides the State’s consistent efforts in waging a legal battle has helped Tamil Nadu in resolving the Cauvery issue.” He also acknowledged the role of Mr. Palaniswami and Deputy CM O. Panneerselvam in resolving the Cauvery issue and expressed his thanks to them.
