Kakinada, an electronics cluster

10 lakh jobs to be provided in the coming 2 years.

Kakinada: The central government is going to set up electronics manufacturing-cluster in Kakinada in addition to hardware park, Union minister for communications and information technology Ravi Shankar Prasad said here on Sunday. He told reporters that already five electronics manufacturing clusters have been sanctioned to Andhra Pradesh and Kakinada Electronics Cluster is an additional one.

He said that nearly 10 lakh jobs would be provided in the coming two years under electronics clusters and another 50 lakhs under information technology. He said that nearly 48,000 new BPO centres would be set up in the country out of which 2,200 are for Andhra Pradesh.

He said the central government was giving full freedom to 'net neutrality’ as part of promoting the digitalisation process. He said that there was a clear cut policy drawn for electronics industry by giving 25 per cent incentives to them. He said that 160 Towers would be set up in Naxal affected area and 440 WiFi connections will be located in 178 locations in Andhra Pradesh.

He said the Centre was giving much more importance to AP than any other state and releasing funds more than that under the special status category. He said there was no use of special status and the BJP will bring this issue to the people for creating awareness. He said that the Centre has sanctioned Rs 2.60 lakh crores to AP and also several educational institutions such as IIIT, AIMS, IIT, Petro University and others.

The Kakinada Port would be modernised under the Sagara Mala project. He said Hand ATMs would be provided to 1.33 lakh postmen in the country and FDIs have also been increa-sed than the UPA government.

He said India achieved 7.6 per cent growth rate by taking special and effective steps for it.
