Adivasis Protest YSRC's Leadership Change in Araku, Demand Local Representation

Tribals express discontent over the appointment of Goddeti Madhavi, terming her an outsider; demand a local leader for Araku constituency.

Visakhapatnam: Adivasis in Araku assembly constituency continued their dharna against ruling YSRC party appointing Goddeti Madhavi as Araku constituency in-charge, replacing the sitting MLA Chetty Palguna.

On Friday, hundreds of tribals assembled at the weekly market, raising slogans against Madhavi. They campaigned among visitors at the market that Madhavi is an outsider married to a non-tribal. They maintained that she had never visited Araku valley during her four-and-a-half-year term as Araku MP.

The agitating Adivasis maintained that they love Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and strongly support YSRC. But they want a local candidate as in-charge of the Araku Assembly constituency.
