Kerala Piravi celebrated with fervour

Thiruvananthapuram: Carmel Students celebrated 62nd Kerala Piravi

The 62nd anniversary of the establishment of the state, the Kerala Piravi day was celebrated with zest and zeal at Carmel School Peyad. L.R Mad-hujan a consulting psychologist and writer, who received the 'Karunasai' literary Award, was the chief guest of the day. Principal Rev. Sr. Gracelyn, Sr. Jennifer and Ms. Beena Antony, staff secretary graced the occasion.

Blood donation camp

A blood donation camp was held at MRMKMMHSS Edava with the aid of IMA Kollam branch. Bharath Scouts and Guides unit of the school took initiative to organise the program-me. MLA V Joy inaugurated the camp. Edava panchyat president Harshad Sabu presided. Principal Jayamohan gave welcome speech and Headmistress Ani-tha gave vote of thanks. Hundreds of people took part in the camp.

Kerala Piravi at BVB Kodunganoor

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Senior Secondary Scho-ol, Kodunganoor organised a celebration in connection with the Kerala Piravi on November 1. School principal Sunil Chacko inaugurated the programme. Vice principal Uma Maheswari del-ivered keynote adress.

Workshop on Genomics

The School of Bioscie-nces, Mar Athanasios College for Advanced Studies, Tiruvalla (MA-CFAST) is organising a two-day lecture worksh-op on “Genomics” sponsored and supported by the Indian Academy of Sciences (Bangalore), Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi and The National Academy of Sciences, All-habad during November 15 and 16. The programme is meant primarily for students and teachers in various branches related to Life Sciences, Chemical Sciences and Physical Sciences. Sathees C. Raghavan, professor, department of biochemistry, Indian Institute of Science is the convener of the programme. Technical sessions will be handled by Partha P. Majumder, National Institute of Biomedical Genomics, Kalyani, West Bengal; Dr. Paturu Kondaiah, Department of Molecul-ar Reproduction, Develo-pment and Genetics, IISc., Bangalore and Dr. Bibha Choudhary, Scien-tist, IBAB, Bangalore. Registration is free and limited to 150 participants.
