Bengaluru: In an act of protest to draw the government's attention towards the encroachment of government land near Whitefield by a private builder, members of Badavara Hitarakshana Samiti poured human excreta on themselves in front of Vidhana Soudha on Tuesday.
The protesters said that a private builder was encroaching land near Whitefield and despite repeated complaints to the Tahsildar, who they alleged was working hand-in-glove with the builder, no action was taken to stop the encroachment.
We are fed up with the lax attitude of the public representatives and had to do this to draw the government's attention, one of the protesters said pointing at a bottle he was holding, which according to him was human waste.
The protesters also claimed that they were being harassed by men of the private builder who were warning them against lodging complaints. The Vidhana Soudha police who rushed to the spot took the protesters into custody.
