Hyderabad: Rain weak in September too

Except for a day or two that recorded heavy showers, there wasn't much rain throughout the months.

Hyderabad: The city weather bureau and Accuweather have forecast moderate rains in Hyderabad for a few days in September.

A similar pattern was witnessed in July and August wherein there was very light rain throughout the two months. However, the month ends saw very heavy rains.

On August 31, heavy rains upped the rainfall count from 4 cm to 11 cm for Hyderabad. It was the same in July. Hyderabad, however, is still 41 per cent deficit when it comes to average rainfall.

For the next seven days, the IMD website has forecast a generally cloudy sky with possibilities of rain or thunderstorms or dust storms. Accuweather meanwhile warns of showers on 3rd, 15th and 16th of September.

The Telangana State Planning Development Society, which is responsible for feeding government agencies with weather bulletins, in its monthly report for September, has forecast only moderate rains on very few days.

The rainfall pattern was similar in July and August too. Except for a day or two that recorded heavy showers, there wasn’t much rain throughout the months.

Quthbullapur (2 cm), Serilingampally (2 cm) and Kukatpally (3 cm) received rains on Thursday night. An average of 1 cm was recorded in the city.
