Amaravati Marathon to reflect spirit, enthusiasm: Gautam Sawang

Runners told to pre-register before Sunday for participation.

Vijayawada: Vijayawada city police commissioner Gautam Sawang said Amaravati Marathon-2018 will reflect the spirit, enthusiasm and energy which abounds in us as we begin  to create a world-class Capital. Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, the police commissioner appealed to  the people come forward to take part in the marathon as it would help one feel togetherness, feel the sense of accomplishment and demonstrate to the world, our will and looking forward indeed.

The third edition of Amaravati Marathon  will be held on Sunday January 7, 2018. The events comprise of half marathon, 10 K race and the 5 K fun run, organised by DEEP Trust with support from various government and private organisations. The marathons will be held on Sunday at Indira Gandhi Stadium, MG Road, Vijayawada, by 6 am.

 

The organizers requested all the runners to pre-register before Sunday to be able to run. Race director Dr Murali said that Amaravati Marathon 2018 is being organised to encourage an active life style among the people, thereby increasing physical literacy of the state. Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu will grace the occassion.
