Hyderabad: BRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, who has been rallying anti-BJP support for his newly rebranded BRS, decided to skip a meeting of the non-BJP leaders convened by his Tamil Nadu counterpart M.K. Stalin, the DMK supremo, in New Delhi on Monday.
Instead, Rao has deputed BRS Rajya Sabha member K. Keshava Rao, popularly known as KK, as the party's representative.
As part of the All India Federation for Social Justice (AIFSJ), Stalin has written to the leaders of all the non-BJP parties inviting them to the second national conference on social justice on Monday. Stalin formed AIFSJ in 2022 to bring together like-minded leaders, political parties, social activists, organizations, and civic society on a common platform to fight for social justice across the country.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot (Congress), Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren (JMM), and Bihar deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav (RJD) have all confirmed their participation so far.
Earlier, Rao did not respond to AAP leader and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's invitation to the March 22 meeting of the CMs of eight non-BJP-ruled states. Rao received the letter on March 5 which referred to Kejriwal's meeting as "Progressive Chief Ministers' Group of India" or G-8.
However, Rao decided to stay away from the meeting after it became clear that there was no response from the other CMs. Subsequently, Kejriwal had to cancel the meeting.
