Clean-up drive every Saturday: BBMP chief

To visit 198 wards to know people’s problems.

Bengaluru: BBMP Commissioner Anil Kumar said that he will be visiting 198 wards, interact with people and get first-hand information about the problems they face.

He said he will make genuine efforts to solve them and added that every Saturday an intensive clean up drive will be taken up at select places.

During the BBMP council meeting Anil Kumar said when B.D. Shenoy was the city commissioner, he visited all the 100 wards to know its problems. “I wish to replicate the same and address the issues.”

He recalled his stint at the city corporation between 1992 and 1995 when he served as the deputy commissioner (development) and said that the city has changed a lot since then.

Adding that there was practice of intensive clean up drive at select places, he said the same will be brought to practice and every Saturday places will be selected for intensive clean up.

Bengaluru is known for its international repute and the city needs good administration, Anil said.

This Saturday, intensive cleaning was held at Hoysalanagar, Malleswaram, Chokkasandra, Varthur, Arakere, Jnanabharathi Nagar, Jakkur, Chamrajpet and Madiwala.
