Andhra Pradesh: Speed up works on airports Dinesh Kumar

The CS observed that there is a notable rise in the number of air passengers travelling from Kadapa airport, when compared to the last year.

Vijayawada: Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar directed the officials concerned to speed up the integration works of various airports in AP.

In a meeting on infra and power projects, on Thursday at the Secretariat, the Chief Secretary has elicited the details about the expansion works of airports. He also suggested to the officals to take up measures to increase flight services in proportion with the rise in the number of air travellers.

The CS observed that there is a notable rise in the number of air passengers travelling from Kadapa airport, when compared to the last year. He also agreed that there is a dearth of pilots. He has directed construction of three additional parking bays by September. He said an integrated terminal building will be built in Vijayawada.

The CS directed officials to complete runway expansion works in Rajahmumdry by May, 2018. The proposals to build 4 parking bays in this airport, have been sent to DGCA, for approval, the CS said. The meeting has discussed about the progress of the Kuppam, Donakonda, Nagarjun Sagar, Bhogapuram, and Orvakallu airports. Principal Secretary (I&I, Energy and CRDA) Mr. Ajay Jain and AP fibregrid MD Mr. Babu A. also have participated in the meeting.
