Raj Bhavan being used for politics, says YSR Congress

Botsa Satyanarayana said that the series of meetings between top political leaders has raised suspicion among the people.

Hyderabad: The YSR Congress on Wednesday alleged that the Raj Bhavan is being used for political purposes. Demanding details of the meeting between Union minister Sujana Chowdary and Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan be made public, senior YSRC leader Botsa Satyanarayana said that the series of meetings between top political leaders has raised suspicion among the people.

Citing the sequence of events — Mr Chowdary first meeting BJP president Amit Shah and Union minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday and then meeting the Governor, that too close on the heels of a local court directing reinvestigation into the cash for vote case, he said that this was the basis for the suspicion.

“We also demand the TS government to clarify as to why no action was taken against Chandrababu Naidu whose name was mentioned numerous times in the chargesheet filed in the cash for vote case. The TS Chief Minister had very categorically stated that the noose had tightened and there was no escape route for Naidu. But things changed later and there was a lull in the investigation process,” Mr Satyanarayana said.

“Sujana Chowdary meeting top BJP leaders and then rushing to Raj Bhavan is a clear indication of what was discussed. His version that he discussed the special status is ridiculous,” he said.
