Hyderabad: A three-year-old boy accidentally fell into an underground sump in LB Nagar on Monday and was drowned. The boy, B. Varshith was playing on the verandah of his house when the incident happened. Police said Varshith was the only son of Nagaraju and Vani who belongs to Nalgonda district. They were staying in a rented house in the Gunti Jangaiah Nagar colony in LB Nagar.
Nagaraju is working for a private firm while Vani is a housewife. On Monday morning, after Nagaraju left for work and as Vani was busy with household works, Varshith walked out to the verandah. Vani did not see this. After finishing work when Vani searched for the boy she could not find him. She immediately informed her husband and with the help of neighbours started searching for the child. Meanwhile, a neighbour came to the sump to collect water and when he lowered a bucket into the sump he found the boy's body floating on the water. They pulled out the boy and rushed him to a hospital where he was declared dead.
