Gang hurls petrol bomb at BJP office in Dindigul

According to the police, the gang threw the bomb at the BJP office in MVM Nagar around 4 am.

Dindigul: A gang hurled a petrol bomb at the BJP district office and burnt a car belonging to the party state executive committee member B.G. Bose in the small hours of Sunday.

According to the police, the gang threw the bomb at the BJP office in MVM Nagar around 4 am. They also burnt the party flag tied to the flagpole. The gang also burnt a Santro car parked outside a house in Alagu Nagar. A tense atmosphere prevailed in the town after this incident.

Police have been deployed at sensitive places in the town. Police suspect the involvement of an Islamic outfit in this incident. They have formed special teams to investigate the case.

Condemning the incident, the BJP district unit has announced a bandh on September 26 in the district. “On September 16, a car belonging to the Hindu Munnai South Zone president Dharma was found burnt near his house. And on September 19, a gang attempted to murder Sankar Ganesh, district executive committee member of Hindu Munnai,” said S.K. Palaniswamy, BJP district president.

“After seeking premission from the state executive committee, we have announced a bandh condemning these continued attacks,” he said.
