Bengaluru: No bail, court to hear Naga's petition again on April 27

Also, the prosecution told the court that he had furnished wrong information to the high court to get the rowdy sheet against him removed.

Bengaluru: A sessions court has adjourned the hearing of former corporator and rowdy Bomb Naga’s anticipatory bail petition till April 27. Bomb Naga had applied for anticipatory bail before the 21st City Civil and Sessions Court after he went absconding following a police raid on his house that led to seizure of Rs 14.8 crore cash in demonetised currency.

The prosecution argued that Naga should not be granted bail as there are more than 40 cases against him and he himself has admitted that people were approaching him to get their black money converted into white. Also, the prosecution told the court that he had furnished wrong information to the high court to get the rowdy sheet against him removed.

Naga’s counsel Srirama Reddy argued that though Naga had 28 cases against him, he was not pronounced guilty in any of them and requested the court to grant him bail. The judge adjourned the hearing to April 27.

Fugitive in Tamil Nadu?
The police, who are on the hunt for Naga, suspect that he is Tamil Nadu, but are unable to nab him as he is reportedly changing places and using multiple SIM cards. “We are trying to track him through the mobile phone network. But he makes only one call from one SIM and never uses it again. It has become a difficult to trace and nab him. However, there is information that he
is in Tamil Nadu and we are working on it,” an official said.
