Hyderabad: Meerpet police arrested two men in separate cases on Thursday for harassing two women by stalking them on social media and spreading rumours.
The accused were identified as M. Sandeep Reddy and G. Mahesh.
Sandeep Reddy and the victim were natives of Vikarabad. “They became friends in 2008 and had gained access to the IDs and passwords of the victim and her husband. He then changed the passwords and misused the accounts to send obscene messages and images to random men,” said the police.
In the second incident, Mahesh, working as a supervisor in Kottakota, is married and has two children. He knew the victim before his wedding and was harassing her via texts and started spreading rumours about her. Both the victims approached the police and lodged complaints against the men. Cases were registered under relevant sections of IPC and the accused were sent to judicial remand.
