Later, searches were conducted at the residence of the accused, and Rs 3.76 lakh and promissory notes worth Rs 23 lakh were seized. The CBI also found signed blank cheques and incriminating documents.”

The complainant, Mr Prabhakar said, “After I submitted my application 20 days ago to the NSIC I received a call from S.L.N. Kumar that he had received information from the NSIC to inspect my firm and give a report. When I visited him he demanded a bribe of Rs 15,000 for inspection and submision of the report. He said that otherwise he would make adverse remarks. I expressed my inability to pay the bribe. He again called me. Finally I informed the CBI.”
