Chennai: A drunk student drove a Porsche into 12 parked autorickshaws at Dr Radhakrishnan Salai in Chennai on Monday morning, killing one and injuring 11.
According to reports, police said that V Vikas, a resident of T Nagar, and his friend, who is said to be a former Indian cricketer's brother, were returning home after attending a party thrown by team Tuti Patriot, who won the Tamil Nadu Premier League final held at Chepauk on Sunday night.
Vikas, who is the son of Supreme Court lawyer Vijay Anand, was driving the car, and was drunk, said reports.
Vikas lost control of the car, which hit the median and ploughed through autorickshaws parked on the roadside, injuring people who were sleeping in the autos.
Vikas and his friend escaped unhurt as the airbags were deployed when the car hit the median at a high speed.
The Adyar traffic investigation wing registered a case and the probe is on, said the report.
