Telangana: Van driver dies of electric shock

Ramesh, hailing from Nizampet, was working as a driver with Manjeera school located in Ramayampet town.

Hyderabad: The driver of a school van, M. Ramesh, died of electric shock on Thursday in Medak district. Ramesh, hailing from Nizampet, was working as a driver with Manjeera school located in Ramayampet town. On Thursday, Ramesh along with attender Bikshapathi, picked up around 35 students from different parts of the town and dropped them at the school.

“While parking, the rear portion of the van came in contact with a 11 KV high tension cable passing over and sparks broke out in the van. The duo noticed this and jumped out of the vehicle. Bikshapathi landed safely but Ramesh lost balance and fell towards the vehicle and was electrocuted,” said S-I Nagarjun Goud of Ramayampet police station. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed midway. A case was registered.
