Hyderabad: Teams from the Ghatkesar station of the excise department, during raids conducted in A.S. Rao Nagar on Wednesday, nabbed three persons serving hookah containing ganja.
Ghatkesar excise station circle inspector M. Mallaiah said that the special teams had received credible information, on the basis of which they had conducted raids at Café De Bristow Hookah Centre.
“We seized 12 flavours of hookah containing raw ganja and 90 grams of ganja from the organisers,” he said.
Mr Mallaiah said that the excise teams had arrested the organiser Dinesh, his friend Abhishek Reddy, and Krishnaiah, an employee of the hookah centre, and sent them to judicial remand. “Another accused, Srikara Sharma, managed to escape. Our teams have launched a search operation to nab him,” he said. He added that the raids were conducted in coordination with teams of the Special Task Force.
