Yadgiri attacker has many Non-Bailable Warrants

Dakkuri Babu, was absconding since two years.

Hyderabad: The man, who shot and injured Congress leader D. Yadgiri, has multiple Non-Bailable Warrants (NBWs) pending against him in Cyberabad and Hyderabad. The history sheeter, Dakkuri Babu, was absconding since two years and the police could not execute the NBWs.

Ironically, after shooting Yadgiri, he gave a live interview to a local TV channel as the police was searching for him. He also had a hand in many land settlement deals in Alwal. North zone police officials said two special teams are after the suspect. “The manhunt is on in full swing and we will arrest him in a few days,” said a senior police official.

Police said Babu is involved in two murder cases and several assault cases and had been avoiding court and the police since two years. “Gopalapuram police has an NBW pending against him. There are many NBWs at police stations under Cyberabad commissionerate which are yet to be executed,” said a senior official. Police thinks that Babu had procured country firearms from north India, and had threatened many of his victims in the past in land deals.

He also extorted money from many realtors in Hyderabad city. A case for attempt to murder (Section 307) and under the Arms Act was booked against him by the Bowenpally police after he shot and injured Congress leader D. Yadgiri.
