Kurnool: A son, under the influence of alcohol, attacked his mother with a sickle late on Saturday at Kotla Sujathammanagar in Dhone of Nandyal district.
The woman, Yerukali Maddamma, 60, received severe injuries in defending herself. She was immediately shifted to the government hospital in an
ambulance along with her family members for treatment.
Police said the incident occurred when the accused, Yerukali Suresh, asked his mother for money and she denied. There was an argument between the two, and the accused attacked his mother with the sickle available there. The Dhone police registered a case against the accused under crime number 276/2023, and he has been charged under sections 324 and 506 of the IPC. The police are currently investigating the case.
