Bengaluru: Car hits bike on flyover, 2 dead

Police said the two were heading to a hospital to meet an ailing relative and Zaheer was riding the bike.

Bengaluru: A speeding cab driven in a rash and negligent manner hit a bike on a flyover and both the riders died on the spot after being thrown off the flyover in Madivala on Saturday afternoon.

The accident happened around 12.30 pm on the elevated flyover on the Hosur Road. The deceased have been identified as as Zaheer Hussain (47) and Mohammad Fakhruddin (37), both residents of Neelasandra and real estate agents.

Police said the two were heading to a hospital to meet an ailing relative and Zaheer was riding the bike.

A speeding Maruti Ritz cab, attached to a cab aggregator, also moving in the same direction, hit the side wall of a flyover and then collided with the bike, resulting in the deaths. The bike, however, remained on the flyover.

Fearing public anger, the cab driver escaped from the spot after abandoning the vehicle.

The police have registered the case are looking out for the absconding driver. They have also contacted the online cab aggregator to get the details of the driver.
