Hyderabad: A 16-year-old student was allegedly raped by her friend in Kalapathar. The suspect took the girl with him to a lodge while she was returning home and raped her.
According to the Kalapathar police, the victim was a resident of Bilalnagar and was studying in Class IX. Nearly a month ago, she became friends with one Imran, a neighbour. Police said he gifted her a mobile phone after which both would spend hours talking.
On Thursday evening, while she was returning home, one Ilyas Ahmed took her on his bike. She returned home at night and complained of pain. When her parents took her to hospital, they found that she was raped, police said.
“The suspect took her to a hotel and raped her and dropped her back. We are trying to trace Ilyas,” additional inspector Md Habeebullah Khan said, adding that the role of Imran was also being probed.
Police found that the girl had not even noticed the name of the hotel where she was taken to and could not say where it was located. The only clue she had was the name of the attacker. Based on a complaint from her brother, police registered a case under the Indian Penal Code for rape and Sections 4 and 8 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act as the victim was a minor.
