STF arrests drug seller in Marredpally

According to officials, A. Piyush, a resident of Marredpally, has international connections and procured drugs from Europe online.

Hyderabad: The Special Task Force of the excise department and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested a drug racketeer who was working as a structural engineer and event manager.

According to officials, A. Piyush, a resident of Marredpally, has international connections and procured drugs from Europe online.

Excise sleuths seized drugs of worth Rs 3.2 lakh from him; the value of some other drugs is yet to be evaluated.

Excise deputy commissioner C. Vivekananda Reddy said that Piyush, 29, was addicted to marijuana from the time when he was an engineering student.

“Later he got addicted to LSD, which he used to procure it from the Netherlands, Britain and Germany through the internet. Later, he turned into a drug peddler,” he said.

“Piyush lost his job during the demonetisation. He studied the mental state of those who consume narcotics and started procuring alternative drugs like Viagra and anti-depression dr-ugs. By mixing such drugs and tablets, he prepares a blotting paper that is as effective as LSD,” Mr Vivekananda Reddy said.

The STF under supervision of assistant excise superintendent N. Anji Reddy, circle inspectors K. Saidi Reddy, K. Karuna, Yadaiah and others nabbed Piyush on Friday, after receiving credible information.

They seized 80 LSD blots, 2,746 slots of empty or chemical coated, 20 grams of marijuana, about 40 grams of white powder, some tablets, one empty parcel cover received from Britain, etc.
