MDMA peddling racket: Hyderabad cops intensify probe

Hyderabad: Lingampally Anuradha and her partner Sanikommu Prabhakar Reddy, who were caught by police for peddling and transporting MDMA crystal pills and cocaine on Monday, could have been using the premises of a famous tiffin centre at DLF, Gachibowli, owned by Reddy, suspect cops.

The eatery has nine branches all over the city. Police are now in the process of digging deep into their network of clients. Police have also launched a hunt for Anuradha’s close friend, who has introduced her to the drugs consumption.

Once they are interrogated further in custody, more details about their network, details of consumers associated with them and other aspects would be revealed, said investigating officials.

Police prima facie found that Reddy was using his business premises for supplying drugs to his clients. “The premises being an eatery and heavy rush all the time, it is difficult to pinpoint on the consumers without concrete evidence,” the officials said adding that there is a possibility of the supply of crystal pills and cocaine in small quantities at these eateries.

If not in large quantities, very small quantities of the banned drugs were supplied from here, suspect the cops.

They have started verifying the details of regular visitors at these eateries owned by Reddy. Though some names have come up during initial inquiries, a detailed probe is on to gather evidence proving their role in this chain, investigators explained.
