Bengaluru: The futile kidnapping attempt on Vinay Bidare, the personal assistant of BJP leader K.S. Eshwarappa, has taken a new turn. As intimate videos and private conversations between BJP state president B.S. Yeddyurappa's personal assistant Santosh and a model have surfaced, it is now being said that the relationship between the two and the abduction bid are linked.
Vinay allegedly had access to the videos and conversations and Santosh wanted them retrieved. He reportedly instructed city BJP Yuva Morcha general secretary Rajendra Urs to kidnap Vinay and get his mobile phone and pen drive, which allegedly contained the video and screenshots of private conversations. Rajendra then hired a few rowdies to get the work done, it is said.
Santosh’s involvement in the case, however, is not yet proved as the police are waiting to record Rajendra’s statement. A police source said that Rajendra did not reveal any information and remained tight-lipped during the interrogation recently. Rajendra took anticipatory bail soon after the arrested accused told the police that they acted on his instructions to kidnap Vinay.
On Friday, DCP (North) Chetan Singh Rathore summoned Vinay to get information about the incident. “We had a formal talk on the incident and the developments related to it. I have asked him to submit a written statement and also the evidence,” Mr Rathore said.
While both Santosh and Vinay denied that any videos existed, the model in question blamed both for ruining her life in the political feud of their masters.
What’s the video all about?
Santosh allegedly had a relationship with a model who happened to be Vinay’s friend. Vinay had allegedly asked the model to record some intimate videos with Santosh and send them to him which she did.
Santosh allegedly learnt about it and asked Rajendra to retrieve the video by kidnapping Vinay. On May 10 as Vinay was travelling on his bike near Mahalakshmi Layout, the accused in a car faked an accident. When Vinay got down from the bike, two men on a bike came to the spot and allegedly tried to kidnap him by pushing him inside the. However, Vinay managed to escape.
Wife of accused files habeas corpus
In a twist to the futile kidnapping attempt on Vinay Bidare, wife of Prashanth Kumar, an accused in the case, has filed a habeas corpus petition before the high court. Archana has sought directions to the police to produce her husband before the court. In turn, the court has ordered notices to HAL police, city police commissioner and others, as she has alleged that her husband has been detained illegally.
