Bengaluru: Highly decomposed bodies found in shop in Vivek Nagar

Tailor murdered the woman employee and later hanged himself: Cops

Bengaluru: Highly decomposed bodies of a man hanging from the ceiling and of a woman, who was murdered, were found at a readymade garment store in Vannarpet in Vivek Nagar on Tuesday. Prima facie, the man could have murdered the woman and later hanged himself, the police said.

The deceased man, Ravindra, a tailor and a resident of Domlur, allegedly murdered his employee, Suma (65), at his tailoring shop in Vannarpet at Vivek Nagar Circle. The police are still trying to find out the reason behind the murder.

Suma, who was from Kodagu, was working with Ravindra for the last several years and lived in a room next to the shop.

Ravindra had suffered losses in his business, and run up huge debts. He had even pledged his house to take loans, but had not been able to repay the loans, the police said. The bank had recently sent him a notice saying that they would auction his house to recover the loan amount. This might have led Ravindra to take the extreme step, the police said.

On Tuesday, the neighbours complained to the police about a strong, nauseating smell coming from the shop. The Vivek Nagar police rushed to the spot, forced open the shop doors and recovered the bodies.
