Hyderabad: Warasiguda police registered a case under the Pocso Act after parents of a seven-year-old differently-abled girl from LN Nagar, alleged that she was raped by unidentified persons at their home on Sunday.

According to police, the girl was suffering from complications related to physical and mental health from birth and was immobile. Her parents would carry her if she had to move.

On Sunday afternoon, her mother put the girl in one of the rooms and went to a kirana store. When she returned home, she found the girl in a pool of blood and she was bleeding from her private parts.

She was rushed to a hospital and complained that someone had sexually assaulted the girl. Alerted by the hospital authorities, Warasiguda police rushed to the hospital and began a probe.

Based on a complaint from the girl’s mother, a case has been registered and the investigation is underway, said Warasiguda SHO P. Shankar. Police said they are verifying CCTVs in the area to know the movement of any suspicious persons in the area and are also verifying if there was any forceful entry into the house in the absence of the girl’s mother. “A medical report is also being awaited on the alleged assault,” the SHO said.
