Bengaluru police wait for Kannada actor Darshan

The security guard of his wife's apartment has also lodged a complaint of manhandling against the actor.

Bengaluru: The city police have communicated to film actor Darshan to appear before the police for inquiry following a complaint filed by his wife Vijayalakshmi, for allegedly abusing and harassing her. The security guard of his wife's apartment has also lodged a complaint of manhandling against the actor.

“We expected him to come on Friday, since he was out of station. We had asked him to appear before Chanammanakere Acchukaatu police for inquiry,” a senior police officer said. Darshan who is currently in his hometown Mysuru met Sandesh Nagraj, JD(S) leader and later met Minister M.H. Ambareesh, who have reportedly counseled him over the issues.

Darshan, who had visited the apartment in Hosakerehalli on Wednesday night reportedly to meet his son, had allegedly created ruckus and even assaulted the security guard. Following the incident, Vijayalakshmi and the security guard had filed separate complaints with the jurisdictional police. Vijayalakshmi in her complaint had requested the police to advise and counsel her husband Darshan not to harass her.

The police, on Thursday, had taken up the complaint under Non-Cognizable Report and summoned Darshan for recording his statement and for a counseling session thereafter, but by then Darshan had left for Mysuru, where he reported stayed at his farm house near Nanjanagudu, the police said.

Meanwhile the Women’s Commission, which has taken up a suo motu case in connection with the incident, had asked the couple to come for counseling but they had sought for three days time.
