UKG girl killed in accident in Hydershakote

On Thursday evening, Sudiksha and her maternal uncle Solomon Raju were going to Hydershakote.

Hyderabad: A UKG student studying in the Army school at Golconda was killed in an accident in Hydershakote on Thursday. The mishap occurred when a speeding van hit the bike Sudiksha and her uncle were riding.

Narsingi police said B. Sudiksha, 5, was the only daughter of Bhagyaraj, an Army soldier and Rebekah who is working as a teacher at the Artillery Centre. Bhagyaraj belongs to Tamil Nadu and is posted in Golconda.

On Thursday evening, Sudiksha and her maternal uncle Solomon Raju were going to Hydershakote. Solomon was riding the bike and Sudiksha was pillion riding on a bike.

“When they reached Kendriya Vihar in Hydershakote, the driver of a van loaded with rice bags tried to overtake the bike and hit the bike of the victims,” SI V. Sudhir Kumar said.

Both of them fell down from the bike. Sudiksha suffered a severe head injury and Solomon sustained minor injuries. Both were rushed to hospital where Sudiksha died. Solomon is out of danger.

Police registered a case of or accidental death and handed over the body to the family after postmortem. A hunt is on to nab the van driver who fled leaving the vehicle.
