Hosapete: Two people lost their lives in a road accident on NH 50 near Chikkajogihalli Cross during the wee hours on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Channaveera Gowda (32) and Yuvaraja Kashappa Hoogar (22), both hailing from Gadag district. Three others- Veeranna, Manjunath, and Chidambar, who was driving the car, sustained injuries in the accident.
The group was en route from Gadag to Sabarimala. Police said that around 2 am on Tuesday the car hit the concrete structure of the culvert on the road side and fell into the gap between the roads.
Senior police officials visited the accident site to assess the situation and gather relevant details.
