Miscreants hack Asifnagar PS official Facebook account, post pornographic pictures

HYDERABAD: Unidentified cybercriminals hacked the Facebook page of the Asifnagar police station and posted pornographic pictures of foreign girls on it on Thursday.

An elderly person informed a senior police officer of the hacking and he immediately alerted the IT and cybercrime teams, police said. By the time the IT cell had deleted the pictures and retrieved the data, thousands of people had watched the page.

Sources said that the hackers operating from a foreign country had gained access to the page on Wednesday, and the police were not aware of it.

“Our officers are engaged in tracing the IP address of the hackers. They seem to be professional hackers and operating from some other country,” a senior police officer said adding, We have alerted all police stations to change their passwords and update their software.”

The Asifnagar police IT cell booked a sou motu case of hacking of their official Facebook page and posting pornographic videos, sources said.
