Bengaluru: 16-yr-old ends life over ill health, says kin

According to her family, Pushpa had health related issues and had been complaining of stomach pain often and was in depression.

Bengaluru: A 16-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging at her house in Kempegowda Nagar on Monday. The deceased identified as Pushpa Raju, was a ninth standard student studying at a private school and a resident of 1st Cross, KG Nagar close to the police station.

According to her family, Pushpa had health related issues and had been complaining of stomach pain often and was in depression. On Monday morning, when her mother Jayalakshmi had gone out to work, Pushpa hanged using a veil.

The incident came to light when her mother returned and noticed that there was no response. The police have also recovered a suicide note that states nobody was responsible for her death. Her body was shifted to Victoria Hospital for the post-mortem and was later handed over to the family members.

Pushpa was the youngest of three daughters, the others are Shweta Raju and Lavanya Raju. While Shweta is married and lives with her husband, Lavanya is going for work along with her mother. Their father Raju had died 15 years ago, the police added. A case of unnatural death has been registered at the K.G. Nagar police station and further investigations are underway.

Pothole claims another life, wife of retired army man dies
A retired army man has been booked under IPC 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 304 a (causing death by negligence) on Monday morning after his bike got stuck in a pothole leading to his wife, Jolly being thrown from the bike and suffering severe head injuries. Police have also booked BWSSB engineer and the contractor in this regard and have mentioned them as accused 2, and 3.

Police said that the bike driver Abraham violated the traffic rule as his wife who was riding pillion was not wearing a helmet. The deceased identified as Jolly Abraham, 45, a resident of Veeraswamypalya was a teacher at a nursery school. The couple have two children.
